As the nation celebrates Hindi Diwas, political leaders greet people on the day talking about language’s importance.
From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Home Minister Amit Shah and several others took to Twitter to wish people.
The PM tweeted, “Hindi has brought India special honour globally and that its simplicity and sensitivity always attract people..”

Modi also expressed heartfelt thanks to all who have made tireless efforts to enrich and strengthen the country’s largest spoken language.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the significance of the Hindu language in ‘uniting’ the nation. He said that the Modi government was committed to the development of all local Indian languages, including Hindi.
“India’s official language Hindi ties the nation in a thread of unity,” Shah tweeted on Wednesday morning. “Hindi is the friend of all Indian languages,” he added.

Hindi Diwas is celebrated in India to commemorate the date 14 September 1949 on which a compromise was reached—during the drafting of the Constitution of India—on the languages that were to have official status in the Republic of India.
The compromise, usually called the Munshi-Ayyangar formula, after drafting committee members KM Munshi and N.Gopalaswami Ayyangar, was voted by the Constituent Assembly of India after three years of debate between two opposing camps.
